Liwan Coffee has officially announced the opening of its new factory in Damascus, Syria, on December 8, 2024—a significant milestone that coincides with the liberation of Syria. The company emphasized that this strategic move reflects its commitment to supporting the Syrian economy and returning home to contribute to rebuilding and advancing the national coffee industry.
The new factory marks the continuation of Liwan’s journey, which began in 2013 in Sudan, expanded to the United Arab Emirates in 2023, and now returns to the homeland of coffee craftsmanship, backed by more than three decades of expertise in roasting, blending, and production.
Liwan confirmed that the factory is equipped with modern technologies and sustainable production practices to ensure the highest quality in its signature coffee blends, including: Classic Coffee, Coffee with Cardamom, Extra Cardamom, Super Extra, Emirati Arabic Coffee, Saudi Arabic Coffee, and Espresso.
The company’s CEO stated that returning to Damascus is “not merely an operational decision, but a national and economic responsibility aimed at revitalizing local food industries and delivering high-quality products that reflect the authenticity of Arabic coffee.”
Liwan affirms that its presence in Syria will contribute to creating new job opportunities and strengthening the cultural and traditional value of coffee as an essential part of Syrian identity.
